Central KPI Appoints Hasrul Hasan and Evri Rizqi as Chair and Vice Chair
Muhammad Hasrul Hasan and Evri Rizqi Monarshi have been elected as Chair and Vice Chair of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the 2026-2029 period. The decision was reached by consensus during the first plenary meeting of KPI members since the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 83/P of 2026 concerning the appointment of Central KPI members for the 2026-2029 period, held at the KPI Central meeting room in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
In the meeting led by Widhie Kurniawan and Analisa, the KPI Central structure was also established, distributing assignments to each member based on their respective fields.
As the elected KPI Chair, Hasrul stated that the KPI will prioritise the delivery of quality, healthy and competitive broadcasting. This will be implemented through the use of broadcasting data as a basis for policy, the protection of public interests through media literacy, and the strengthening of national identity through the reinforcement of local broadcasting and national content.
“Regulatory fairness for fellow media industry players is essential to create a healthy media ecosystem, including broadcasting,” he said, as reported in a press release.
Accordingly, the first agenda to be undertaken by the Central KPI is to consolidate broadcasting stakeholders in order to accelerate the passage of a new broadcasting law.
Hasrul previously served as Coordinator of the Broadcasting Policy and System Development Division of the Central KPI for the 2022-2026 period. Born in Makassar, he first served at the South Sulawesi Regional KPI for two terms, with his last position being Chair of the Regional KPI. Meanwhile, Evri Rizqi previously served as a member of the Institutional Affairs Division of the Central KPI for the 2022-2026 period.
