Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government (Kalteng) and the East Java Provincial Government (Jatim) collaborated on a trade and investment mission that generated transactions exceeding Rp2 trillion.

Central Kalimantan Governor Agustiar Sabran, speaking in Palangka Raya on Thursday, described the trade mission as a strategic step in strengthening synergy and collaboration between regions, particularly between Central Kalimantan and East Java.

“We view this activity as a gateway to broader cooperation, not only in trade but also in investment, industrial downstreaming, and strengthening supply chains between regions,” Agustiar said during the event.

The various trade and investment cooperation transactions between businesses in Central Kalimantan and East Java include livestock products worth Rp1.21 trillion per year, the agricultural sector with liquid organic fertiliser commodities reaching Rp227.25 billion over five years, timber and rattan commodities amounting to Rp145.65 billion per year, among others.

Agustiar stated that the business meeting and trade mission serve as important instruments for expanding market access, strengthening business partnership networks, and opening new mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities.

“We hope that through this forum, sustainable and mutually reinforcing partnerships will be built between businesses from East Java and Central Kalimantan, thereby providing tangible impacts on economic growth and regional development, as well as improving community welfare,” he explained.

East Java Governor Khofifah said that the trade and investment transactions conducted jointly with Central Kalimantan involve both selling and buying, as well as investments.

“Transactions up to 2:30 p.m. WIB total more than Rp2 trillion; this value will continue to move during the event, which we officially close at 5:00 p.m. WIB. However, afterwards, each sector will continue to follow up and proceed,” she explained.
