Central Java's Revola Programme Transforms Idle Land into Productive Farms

The Central Java Provincial Government has successfully revitalised land that had lain fallow for over a decade through its Revola (Revolusi Lahan) Jateng Optimis programme. Governor Ahmad Luthfi inaugurated the project in Susukan Village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara Regency, on Monday, 10 August 2026, highlighting its role in restoring economic hope and agricultural productivity. The initiative employs an integrated smart farming concept across 10 hectares, cultivating coffee and avocado for erosion control alongside horticulture, rice paddies, fish farming, and poultry and goat rearing, all managed by young farmers using modern technology.

Governor Luthfi expressed his ambition to replicate the programme across all 35 districts and cities in Central Java, emphasising that many idle lands remain unutilised and could be optimised to support food security and self-sufficiency. Village Head Hasyim Abdullah noted strong community enthusiasm, as the project empowers residents to use agricultural and livestock produce for their own consumption and for sale, while also targeting poverty alleviation. Farmer representative Nur Fauzi added that the programme has revived land left idle for 12 years, with young farmers now operating drones, automated irrigation, and soil measurement tools to boost productivity.
