Central Java's Housing Credit Distribution Reaches Rp2.3 Trillion, Governor Ahmad Luthfi Receives Praise

The housing needs of residents in Central Java remain high, which has also impacted the elevated levels of housing financing credit in the region. According to data from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), the realisation of People’s Business Credit (KUR) distribution in the housing sector or the Housing Programme Credit (KPP) for the period 1 January to 1 April 2026 in Central Java Province ranks first nationally with a value of approximately Rp2.3 trillion. The largest distributions are in Brebes Regency at Rp131.5 billion, Banyumas Rp117.4 billion, and Sragen Rp115.6 billion. For this achievement, Minister PKP Maruarar Sirait has extended praise to the Central Java Provincial Government and Governor Ahmad Luthfi. “We must learn from Central Java and its Governor. This Housing Credit is President Prabowo Subianto’s programme to stimulate the economy. I am very pleased that Central Java is number one,” said Maruarar during a meeting with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi at the Ministry of PKP office in Jakarta on Thursday, 2 April 2026. In addition to housing credit, Central Java Province has also recorded strong achievements in the Liquidity Facility for Housing Financing (FLPP) programme or subsidised housing programme. Data from the Ministry of PKP indicates that Central Java is in second place nationally for this programme. In 2025, FLPP financing in Central Java reached 24,470 units. “If possible, this year (2026) it will be 40,000 units. It has been prepared and coordinated with the Minister of ATR/BPN, who said Central Java is also the highest in land data mapping that can be used for settlements,” explained the minister, familiarly known as Ara. Besides those two aspects, the approximately 1.5-hour meeting also discussed plans to accelerate other housing and settlement programmes in 2026. These include the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) or house renovation, apartment buildings, slum settlement improvements, and empowerment of roofing UMKM. “The roofing centres in Central Java are in Kebumen and Jepara. We will utilise this. So, using roofing from Central Java to advance UMKM,” she stated. In the meeting, Governor Ahmad Luthfi was accompanied by the Regents of Jepara, Batang, Brebes, Temanggung, Banyumas, Grobogan, and the Deputy Regent of Boyolali. Ahmad Luthfi explained that the handling of the 2025 housing backlog in Central Java was 274,514 units. The remaining housing backlog is around 1,058,454 units, or a decrease of approximately 20%. The handling comes from various sources including regional budgets, provincial and regency/city budgets, Baznas, corporate CSR, community participation, and others. “Today, we propose regarding BSPS 2026. For handling slum settlement areas, we propose in Batang, Banyumas, Jepara, and possibly in Semarang City. We also propose apartment buildings,” said Luthfi.
