Central Java Workers' Productivity Meets Global Company Standards
Kendal, infojateng.id - Workers from Central Java are demonstrating high competitiveness on the international stage. With continuously developing skills and adaptation, they are assessed as capable of matching international company standards and contributing to increased productivity in export-oriented industries.
The performance of thousands of employees at PT Borine Technology Indonesia in Kendal Regency serves as one of the proofs that the productivity of workers from Central Java meets the standards set by global companies.
“As long as we have the intention to work, especially in Central Java, we can compete with other countries,” stated Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi after directly inspecting the production activities at PT Borine Technology Indonesia, located in the Kendal Special Economic Zone (KEK), on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
During his visit, the governor, accompanied by Kendal Regent Dyah Kartika Permanasari, engaged in dialogue with the company management and inspected the production processes at the factory.
General Manager of PT Borine Technology Indonesia, Jankey Ren, stated that the productivity of around 4,000 local employees matches that of workers in the company’s home country, China. This comes after the workers underwent training and gained work experience for approximately three years.
The products produced by the company not only meet domestic needs but are also exported to global markets. This serves as an indicator that the quality of Central Java’s human resources is increasingly competitive in the eyes of foreign investors.
“Workforce competency is a key factor in attracting investment. The trust given by PT Borine Technology Indonesia also drives regional economic growth, particularly in Kendal Regency and Central Java in general,” Luthfi explained.
Furthermore, the company has invited six other companies as raw material suppliers to also invest in Kendal.
In the first phase, PT Borine Technology Indonesia’s investment value reached USD 700 million, or approximately Rp 11 trillion. The company is also committed to expanding its investment in the second phase with a value of around USD 1.4 billion, equivalent to Rp 22 trillion.
“This large investment shows that Central Java is a safe, stable, and competitive region for global investors,” he emphasised.
He mentioned that Central Java’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 reached 5.89 percent, while Kendal Regency recorded a higher growth of around 9 percent. The provincial government will continue to strive to increase investment, both labour-intensive and capital-intensive.
Further, the governor emphasised the importance of maintaining investor trust. All regents and regional apparatus organisations are urged to actively play the role of “marketing” to promote investment potential in their respective areas.
In addition to inspecting the factory, Governor Luthfi also absorbed various inputs from investors and KEK Kendal managers, including regarding the optimisation of Kendal Port. He assessed that the port’s existence plays a strategic role in supporting industrial growth and investment.
To that end, the Central Java Provincial Government will strengthen coordination with Pelindo and the Ministry of Transportation to re-optimise the operations of Kendal and Batang Ports, as well as revitalise Semarang’s Tanjung Emas Port.
