The weather forecast for Central Java on 10 March 2026 shows potential for extreme conditions across 24 districts. Residents in the north coast regions, Solo Raya, and central parts of Central Java have been advised to remain alert to hydrometeorological hazards such as landslides, flooding, and tornadoes.

On the morning of Tuesday, 10 March, Central Java is expected to be overcast, but from midday through to early evening, light to moderate rain will fall across the region. Extreme weather conditions—including heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and lightning strikes—are potentially expected in 24 Central Java districts and may result in hydrometeorological disasters.

Although tidal flooding has subsided, high waves measuring 1.25–2.5 metres accompanied by rain and storms, an increase from previous conditions, are anticipated in northern waters and the same wave height in southern waters, posing considerable risk to maritime activities including fishing vessels, barges, and cargo and passenger transport.

“Remain vigilant against hydrometeorological hazards, as extreme weather conditions continue across 24 districts in Central Java, particularly in mountainous and highland areas,” said Ferry Oktarisa, forecaster at the Indonesian Meteorological Agency’s Ahmad Yani Meteorological Station in Semarang, on Tuesday, 10 March.

The districts in Central Java with the potential for extreme weather, according to Ferry Oktarisa, include Purbalingga, Banjarnegara, Purworejo, Wonosobo, Mungkid, Boyolali, Klaten, Sukoharjo, Sragen, Grobogan, Blora, Rembang, Pati, Ungaran, Temanggung, Kendal, Batang, Kajen, Pemalang, Slawi, Brebes, Surakarta, Bumiayu, and Majenang.

Other areas across Central Java are forecast to experience light to moderate rainfall, with winds blowing from west to north at speeds of 10–30 kilometres per hour, air temperatures ranging from 18–32 degrees Celsius, and humidity levels between 60–95 per cent, according to Ferry Oktarisa.

Shafira Tsanyfadhila, forecaster at the Indonesian Meteorological Agency’s Tanjung Emas Maritime Station in Semarang, stated that high waves accompanied by rain and storms continue across the northern and southern waters of Central Java on Tuesday, 10 March, requiring residents engaged in maritime activities in those waters to exercise caution.

“Alert: wave heights are reaching 1.25–2.5 metres, particularly when wind speeds exceed 15 knots, which poses considerable risk to maritime activities,” said Shafira Tsanyfadhila.

The high waves in Central Java’s waters, according to Shafira Tsanyfadhila, are occurring fairly uniformly across northern waters such as Pekalongan–Kendal, Semarang–Demak, Jepara, Karimunjawa, and Pati–Rembang, whilst in southern waters they extend from Cilacap to Purworejo.
