Central Java Weather Forecast for 2 June: Alert for Tidal Flooding on the North Coast
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released the weather forecast for Central Java for 2 June 2026, including an early warning regarding the increased potential for tidal flooding (rob) in the northern coastal region (Pantura). Although the weather is generally predicted to be partly cloudy, tidal phenomena are expected to disrupt community activities in several crucial areas.
The BMKG forecaster from the Tanjung Emas Semarang Maritime Station, Herbuana Yoga W, revealed that high tides are predicted to peak at a height of approximately 0.9 metres between 09:00 and 14:00 WIB. This condition will directly impact coastal flooding in the regions of Pekalongan, Batang, Kendal, Semarang, Demak, Jepara, and Pati.
Meteorologically, the weather in Central Java from morning to afternoon will be dominated by partly cloudy conditions. However, light rain is still possible from late afternoon to early night, particularly in highland and mountainous areas such as the Mount Slamet, Dieng, Sumbing, and Sindoro regions.
The BMKG forecaster from the Ahmad Yani Semarang Meteorological Station, Haritz Syahid Hakim, explained that rainfall intensity is expected to decrease significantly over the next three days. “Dozens of areas in Central Java are beginning to enter the early dry season. We advise the public to remain vigilant against the potential for forest and land fires,” said Haritz.
BMKG also noted a phenomenon of higher temperatures during the day, while nights tend to be colder as the region enters the transition period towards the dry season. The public is advised to maintain their health and ensure adequate hydration amidst this fluctuating weather.
