Central Java Weather Forecast for 19 June 2026: Light Rain and Coastal Flooding Alert
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released its weather forecast for Central Java today, 19 June 2026, indicating that light rain is still likely to fall in ten areas. Although air temperatures feel warmer, the public is asked to remain alert to rapid weather changes and the potential for coastal flooding along the northern coast (Pantura). Weather conditions in Central Java currently show considerable instability. On one hand, several regions are beginning to be affected by drought due to the dry season, yet on the other, rain is still falling in mountainous areas and coastal flooding is hitting coastal regions. Ranny Puspita, a forecaster at the BMKG Semarang Meteorological Station, explained that from morning to afternoon the weather is generally clear and cloudy. However, towards the afternoon and early evening, light rain is predicted to fall over mountainous and highland areas. Air temperatures in Central Java today range between 19 and 34 degrees Celsius with humidity of 50 to 95 percent. Lessy Andari, a forecaster at the BMKG Tanjung Emas Maritime Station in Semarang, reminded residents along the Pantura of Central Java to be aware of the impacts of coastal flooding. This phenomenon is predicted to disrupt transport activities, loading and unloading at ports, as well as inland fisheries and salt farming sectors. In addition to coastal flooding, BMKG also issued a warning regarding sea wave heights. Shipping activities such as fishing boats, barges, and passenger transport are urged to be cautious, especially when wind speeds exceed 15 knots. ‘Remain vigilant, especially during strong winds,’ concluded Lessy.
