Central Java Weather Forecast 15 August 2026: Chance of Light Rain in Four Regions

Light rain is expected to fall in four areas of Central Java on Saturday (15/8). This phenomenon will cause air temperatures to feel slightly warmer amidst the ongoing dry season.

From morning until early evening, the weather in Central Java is generally forecast to be sunny to cloudy. However, the potential for light rain is predicted to occur in mountainous and highland areas in the central part of the region, including Purbalingga, Wonosobo, Temanggung, and Kajen Regencies.

“Remain vigilant against forest and land fires, even though there is a chance of light rain in four areas of Central Java,” said BMKG Meteorology Station Ahmad Yani Semarang forecaster Agus Triyono on Saturday (15/8).

Agus explained that vigilance against forest and land fires remains a priority given the many plants that have dried out and are easily ignited. In addition to fires, the public is also advised to be aware of the potential for strong winds blowing from the east to the south at speeds of 5-35 km/h.

Temperatures are expected to range from 16-34 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, southern ocean waves are subsiding, but tidal flooding still inundates the northern coast. Maritime Meteorology Station Tanjung Emas Semarang forecaster Lessy Andari stated that high waves in southern waters, which previously reached 2.5-4 metres, are now beginning to subside to around 1.25-2.5 metres.

Despite the decrease, Lessy reminded the public to remain cautious during maritime activities. This wave category is still quite risky for fishing boats, barges, and tourist vessels, especially when wind speeds exceed 15 knots.

A different situation is occurring in the northern waters of Central Java. The tidal flood phenomenon, with a height of one metre, is predicted to take place between 07:00 and 11:00 WIB. As a result, tidal flooding continues to inundate several coastal areas along the Pantura region, such as Pekalongan, Semarang, and Demak.

“This tidal flooding disrupts residents’ activities, including transportation, loading and unloading of goods at ports, inland fisheries, and salt farming,” said Lessy Andari.
