Central Java Vice Governor Sends Off 1,142 Homecoming Travellers from Bandung
Semarang (ANTARA) - Central Java Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen presided over the departure of 1,142 homecoming travellers participating in the 2026 Free Homecoming programme from Bandung to their hometowns.
The travellers departed from Husein Sastranegara Air Force Base (Lanud) in Bandung on Monday, travelling by bus convoy.
“Today we are sending off the free homecoming programme for residents from West Java, Bandung, Cimahi, and surrounding areas,” said Gus Yasin, his familiar nickname.
The 1,142 travellers were transported using 23 buses to various destinations across Central Java, including Cilacap, Kebumen, Klaten, Sukoharjo, Banjarnegara, Tegal, Grobogan, Demak, and Wonogiri.
The Central Java Provincial Government’s attention extends beyond the departure point, providing premium services to travellers upon arrival at their destination terminals.
“Upon arrival at type B terminals in Central Java, we will welcome them with renewed health screenings. We have arranged free health checks through the Spelling programme. We are also providing free internet access,” he said.
Provincial administrators noted that enthusiasm among Central Java residents working abroad to participate in this year’s free homecoming programme has been exceptionally high.
