The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (Kanwil DJP) Central Java II conducted a synchronised seizure operation from 10 to 12 June 2026, targeting 28 assets belonging to tax defaulters with an estimated total value of Rp 2.05 billion. The assets are spread across several Tax Service Offices (KPP).

Head of Kanwil DJP Central Java II, Teguh Budiharto, stated that the synchronised seizure activity is part of the office’s efforts to enhance the effectiveness of tax collection and encourage taxpayer compliance through measured law enforcement actions in accordance with statutory regulations. The seizure actions were taken after various persuasive approaches had been made to the taxpayers.

“This activity is expected to encourage taxpayers to promptly settle their tax arrears while improving tax compliance to support state revenue,” Teguh said in Solo on Thursday, 11 June 2026.

He noted that the objects targeted for seizure were predominantly movable assets in the form of motor vehicles, such as passenger cars, pickup trucks, lorries, and other operational vehicles. The seizures were carried out against taxpayers who still have tax arrears and have not settled their obligations despite having gone through the collection stages in accordance with applicable provisions.

He explained that the tax collection process begins with passive collection through the issuance of tax assessment letters. If the tax debt remains unpaid, the action proceeds to active collection, including the delivery of warning letters, distress warrants, and ultimately a Seizure Execution Order (SPMP).

“During the delivery of the SPMP, officers provide explanations to taxpayers regarding their tax rights and obligations, as well as the legal consequences that may arise if the tax arrears are not promptly settled,” he said.

An educational and communicative approach remains prioritised at every stage of collection to provide adequate understanding to taxpayers.

Before the seizure action is executed, the State Tax Bailiff (JSPN) conducts research on the assets to be seized to verify ownership status and their suitability as seizure objects. Additionally, all administrative documents for the seizure have been prepared in accordance with applicable regulations to ensure legal certainty and accountability in the execution of collection actions.

“Through this synchronised seizure activity, Kanwil DJP Central Java II hopes that taxpayers will become increasingly aware of the importance of fulfilling their tax obligations in a timely manner,” he stated.

Teguh affirmed that unresolved tax arrears will continue to be monitored and followed up in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations.

This activity also serves as a manifestation of the DJP’s commitment to enforcing tax law fairly and professionally, in order to support the optimisation of state revenue and create a better climate of tax compliance in the Central Java II region.
