Central Java Targets Success as Host of 2026 National MTQ

“As the host, we must succeed. However, it is not just the organisation that must succeed; the delegation must also achieve success. That is true excellence,” stated Luthiment Luthfi in a written statement on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

Luthfi urged the delegation to utilise the training period to mature their abilities, mental strength, and competitive readiness. According to him, Central Java possesses significant assets to achieve high performance. In addition to a large Muslim population, the province boasts numerous mosques, prayer rooms, and a high number of Hafiz and Hafizah (Quran memorisers).

He requested that participants maximise their training time, noting that success cannot be achieved instantly but must be prepared through rigorous practice.

“The success of an activity stems from its training. The proportion is 70 per cent training and 30 per cent execution. Pay close attention to all instructions from the coaches. We must truly internalise this, not just as personal experience, but as experience for the future,” Luthfi added.

The Coordinator of Coaches for the Central Java Delegation, Sofyan Hadi Musa, stated that the training has entered its sixth period.

“The main focus is simulating how to perform at the MTQ, followed by assessment and feedback to ensure there are no deficiencies or errors during the actual performance,” said Sofyan.

In addition to technical skills, the training is directed towards strengthening the participants’ mental resilience to ensure they can perform calmly and consistently before the panel of judges. A total of 67 delegation members are participating in the training, consisting of 56 core participants and 11 reserves, accompanied by 13 national coaches and 13 local coaches.

The Vice Governor of Central Java and Chairperson of the Central Java LPTQ, Taj Yasin Maimoen, also urged participants to build their self-confidence. He emphasised that the technical skills mastered must be supported by the readiness to handle pressure during the competition.
