Central Java Sharia Festival 2026 Boosts MSME Turnover, Strengthens Halal Ecosystem

The Central Java Sharia Festival (FAJAR) 2026 has become a platform for strengthening the halal ecosystem while opening market opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Several participants reported a manifold increase in turnover during the festival held at Queen City Mall Semarang from 6 to 9 August 2026. Roni Abdul Ghoni from Toros Farm Sulawesi Magelang stated that his daily turnover, typically IDR 1-2 million, rose to IDR 5-10 million during the event. Central Java Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen explained that FAJAR is a collaboration between the Central Java Provincial Government and Bank Indonesia to drive sharia economic growth. He noted that development is carried out from upstream to downstream, including halal slaughterhouses, halal culinary zones, and MSME empowerment, which also supports Muslim-friendly tourism. Head of Bank Indonesia Central Java Representative Office M. Noor Nugroho added that FAJAR 2026 carries the theme of strengthening literacy and the halal value chain to make the sharia economy a new source of growth in Central Java. The festival featured halal certification services, financial education, and inspirational talks. The halal ecosystem in Tegal city has shown positive development, with halal certifications rising from 26 in 2021 to 5,210 by 2 June 2026. The Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) has made Central Java a national role model for an integrated halal ecosystem.
