Central Java sets dual targets for 2026 National MTQ
The success of any activity stems from its training; 70 per cent is practice, while only 30 per cent is the execution. Pay close attention to all instructions from the coaches. We must truly internalise this.
Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Government has set dual targets for the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) in 2026, aiming to succeed both as the host and in achieving competitive excellence.
“As the host, we must succeed. However, it is not enough for the organisation to be successful; the delegation must also succeed. That is what makes a true champion,” said the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, in Semarang on Wednesday, during the Competency Enhancement Training for Prospective Participants of the 31st National MTQ at the Manyaran Transit Hajj Dormitory, Semarang City.
He urged the delegation members to utilise the training period to mature their skills, mental fortitude, and competitive readiness.
According to Luthfi, Central Java possesses significant assets to achieve excellence, as its large Muslim population provides an abundance of mosques, prayer rooms, and hafiz and hafizah (Quran memorisers).
He requested that participants maximise their training time, noting that success cannot be achieved instantly but must be prepared through practice.
“The success of an activity comes from its training. The proportion is 70 per cent training and 30 per cent execution. Pay attention to all directions from the coaches. We must truly internalise this,” he said.
“This is not only an experience for yourselves, but also an experience for the future,” he continued.
Luthfi reminded participants that they are no longer merely representing themselves or their home districts, but are carrying the great name of Central Java.
The Coordinator of Coaches for the Central Java Delegation, Sofyan Hadi Musa, stated that the training has entered its sixth period.
“The main focus is simulating how to perform at the MTQ, followed by being assessed and provided with feedback to ensure there are no deficiencies or errors during the performance,” he said.
In addition to technical skills, the training is directed towards strengthening the participants’ mental resilience so they can perform calmly and consistently before the panel of judges.
A total of 67 delegation members are participating in the training, consisting of 56 core participants and 11 reserves. They are accompanied by 13 national coaches and 13 local coaches.
Meanwhile, the Vice Governor of Central Java and Chairperson of the LPTQ Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, also urged participants to cultivate self-confidence.
He noted that the technical skills already mastered must be supported by the readiness to face pressure during the competition.
