Grobogan - The Central Java Provincial Government has called on regencies and municipalities to collaborate and fully support efforts to boost sustainable tourism and Sharia economy by 2027.

“Demak Regency will continue to support and achieve the Provincial Government of Central Java’s target for sustainable tourism,” said Demak Regent Eisti’anah during the 2026 Central Java Development Consultation for the Kedungsapur region at Grobogan Regency’s Pendopo on Friday.

Present at the event were Provincial Secretary of Central Java Sumarno, representing Governor Ahmad Luthfi, and regional leaders from the Kedungsepur area including Kendal, Demak, Semarang Regency, Salatiga, Semarang City, and Grobogan.

Eisti’anah stated readiness to support by designating five Muslim-friendly tourism businesses, with the next target being halal-certified products.

Meanwhile, Semarang Regent Ngesti Nugraha said his administration would develop tourism accommodating Borobudur, Solo, Kopeng, and Rawapening areas. To support Muslim-friendly tourism, four halal-certified slaughterhouses (RPH) have been prepared.

Salatiga City Secretary Muthoin outlined the city’s 2027 theme as tourism and creative economy ecosystem development supported by high-quality human resources.

To facilitate this, Salatiga City has allocated 17,000 square metres of land for the Taman Sari toll exit, also known as Patimura.

“Our hope is to become a hub for tourism and trade growth,” he said.

Additionally, Salatiga is renowned as Indonesia’s most tolerant city, with many international visitors coming to study tolerance. Therefore, the city is committed to developing its urban landscape, culture, and tourism packages.

Kendal Regent Dyah Kartika Permanasari stated readiness to synchronise policies with the provincial government’s direction for 2027, with several Kendal priority programmes set to support Central Java’s sustainable tourism theme.

Similarly, Grobogan Regent Setyo Hadi said despite ongoing development challenges, his administration is committed to realising the province’s 2027 development theme of sustainable tourism and Sharia economy as the backbone of economic growth.

Provincial Secretary Sumarno praised the support from local governments in the Kedungsepur region.

Sumarno explained the development consultation follows up on previous Musrenbang sessions, with regencies and municipalities submitting proposals via an application. The meeting serves to align perceptions on steps to be taken in 2027, particularly regarding tourism and Sharia economy development.

“Today [29 May], we align perceptions on what we will do in 2027,” he said.

Sumarno also commended regions with high economic growth, hoping discussions would foster consensus and collaboration to boost economic growth.
