Central Java Receives 2026 Investment Service Excellence Award
Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Government has received an award from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming as the province with the best investment services in Indonesia at the 2026 Investment Service Awards (ALI).
The award was presented directly to the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, during the ALI 2026 ceremony held at the Nusantara Room, Suhartoyo Building, Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
In a statement from Semarang on Wednesday, Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that the award serves as a motivational boost to further improve investment and licensing services to ensure they remain fast, easy, and excellent.
“This provides us with great spirit. Because one of the primary gateways for investment is the availability of fast, easy, and excellent licensing and services,” he said.
In this category, Central Java secured third place, following North Maluku and East Java.
He noted that the award is the result of the hard work of the Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) and the support of relevant stakeholders.
Consequently, Luthting urged his entire staff to enhance the performance of licensing and investment services. He emphasised that officers should take a proactive approach, serving with a smile, and actively engaging with potential investors to understand their needs and any challenges they face.
According to data, investment realisation in Central Java during the first semester of 2026 reached IDR 59.94 trillion, consisting of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) amounting to IDR 25.92 trillion (53.40 per cent).
This was followed by Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) of IDR 22.62 trillion (46.60 per cent), as well as MSME investment of IDR 11.40 trillion. These investments successfully absorbed 213,217 workers through 55,989 projects.
Through these investments, it is hoped that more jobs will continue to be created, the local economy strengthened, and ultimately, public welfare increased. “Investment is one of the ways to grow the economy and improve the welfare of the people in our region,” said Luthfi.
The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Roslan Roeslani, stated that investment services are a key factor in improving the overall investment climate in Indonesia. The objective is to attract both domestic and foreign investment, as well as to create jobs, as job creation remains a shared responsibility.
During the event, the Semarang Regency Government also received an investment service award, while Karanganyar Regency ranked in the top six for the same category.
