Central Java Provincial Government Ensures Digital Support Readiness for National MTQ

Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Government has ensured the readiness of public communication support and digital technology infrastructure for the implementation of the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ).

This readiness includes strengthening connections and signals, providing a media centre, and installing videotron facilities to support information access for the public.

The Head of the Central Java Communication, Informatics, and Digital Office (Diskomdigi), Lilik Henry Ristanto, stated in Semarang on Saturday that his office is collaborating with the Semarang City Communication, Informatics, and Digital Office, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the LPTQ to support the hosting of the National MTQ.

According to him, the duties of Diskomdigi are divided into two main areas: public communication and media, and the preparation of digital technology infrastructure.

“As of today, we are ready to carry out both. Of course, we will continue to update based on the evolving dynamics,” he said.

To support media needs, Diskomdigi Central Java is preparing a media centre in the main arena area of Simpang Lima.

“In addition to videotrons, we are also providing a media centre. The media centre is located in the main venue area of Simpang Lima. There will be 12 venues there, which will be broadcast from 12 different locations,” he said.

The Central Java Provincial Government, alongside the organising committee, is also preparing four videotron points around Simpang Lima to accommodate members of the public who may not be able to fit within the main arena.

These locations include the Simpang Lima pedestrian path on the western side facing south, the southern side facing Jalan Parda, in front of the Central Java Governor’s Office, and the corner of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Secretariat courtyard facing Jalan Pahlawan.

“These are the points we have prepared to anticipate situations where the public comes to Simpang Lima and may not be accommodated due to high enthusiasm,” he said.

The public is also invited to attend the main arena in person and witness the opening ceremonies, particularly for segments that require space, such as the delegation parade and the flag-hoisting troop (paskibraka).

The opening ceremony programme on Saturday night includes a ceremony, a colossal dance, a record-breaking mass singing of the MTQ Mars, and a performance by religious singer Opick.

“This Musabaqah (National MTQ) event belongs to the community; therefore, the public is welcome to attend during the opening and throughout the event,” he said.

The capacity for the public in the main arena is expected to be quite large because not all areas will use chairs or tables; spaces previously used for the parade and colossal dance can be repurposed for the public to watch the main stage.

“So, we can ensure the capacity is quite large. It could potentially accommodate up to 1,000 people because there will be no chairs or tables,” he said.

In addition to the main competition agenda, various supporting events are also provided, such as a job fair, an MSME bazaar, and a Ta’aruf parade, which will add to the festivities of the 2026 MTQ.
