Central Java Provincial Government Deploys 306 Medical Personnel for National MTQ
Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Government is deploying 306 healthcare personnel across 12 competition arenas for the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) 2026, which will be held in Semarang from 11–20 September 2026.
The Head of the Central Java Health Office, Zulfachmi Wahab, stated in Semarang on Thursday that the department has prepared comprehensive health services, ranging from competition venues to the accommodation of the delegations.
“We have prepared everything from upstream to downstream. We are deploying 306 health teams divided across 12 locations, including mobile health teams,” he said.
According to him, the presence of health teams is not only to respond to participants experiencing health issues at the competition arenas. Monitoring will also be conducted at the delegations’ accommodation sites to ensure their health conditions remain stable throughout the MTQ series.
To support these services, the Central Java Provincial Government has prepared five hospitals as referral centres, namely Diponegoro National Hospital, SMC RS Telogorejo, KRMT Wongsonegoro Hospital, dr Adyatma Regional Hospital, and RSUP Dr Kariadi as the primary referral hospital.
He added that the Central Java Provincial Government is also taking preventative measures against potential food poisoning. Health teams are conducting inspections of the food prepared for the delegations, including monitoring catering locations.
“Food quality is also being checked to avoid poisoning or any undesirable incidents,” he said.
Supervision is being carried out from the competition venues to the delegation lodgings. Mobile health teams have also been prepared to conduct site visits if necessary.
“Up to this point, the team continues to ensure readiness and is coordinating with all relevant elements involved in the implementation of the National MTQ,” said Zulfachmi.
The readiness of these health services is part of the Central Java Provincial Government’s preparations for the 31st MTQ, which will be attended by approximately 7,000 people, including 2,242 participants from 38 provinces.
The 31st National MTQ will take place from 11–20 September 2026, with competitions held across 12 arenas scattered throughout Semarang.
A total of 2,242 participants have been confirmed for the 31st National MTQ, consisting of 1,751 core participants and 491 reserves. They will compete in eight branches and 24 competition groups across 48 categories, with the committee having prepared 5,257 examination items.
