Central Java Provincial Government Allocates Rp 37.1 Billion for Jepara-Keling Road Repairs
Initially, the road section was only allocated a budget of Rp 7.9 billion. However, through a Regional Head Regulation to be issued by the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, the repair budget has been increased to Rp 37.1 billion. The road repair is a continuation of a 1 km concrete paving project carried out by the Central Java Provincial Government in 2025.
Head of the Central Java Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, Henggar Budi Anggoro, stated that the road is an economic access route. Besides connecting Jepara Regency with Pati, the route also connects to the Tanjung Jati Steam Power Plant. Consequently, many residents and heavy vehicles traverse the route.
From the 2026 original budget, the Governor issued a Regional Head Regulation and provided additional allocation for road construction in the Jepara-Keling area. The construction will later connect with the concrete road built by the Central Java Provincial Government last year. This was conveyed while inspecting the condition of the Jepara-Keling road section on Thursday.
According to him, concreting this road section is the most ideal solution compared to asphalt. The route is heavily traversed by heavy vehicles. Additionally, Henggar is targeting physical construction to begin at the end of July 2026. Before the concreting proceeds, his agency is working to patch several potholes with asphalt for the safety and comfort of road users.
Jepara Regency Regional Secretary, Ary Bachtiar, appreciated the Central Java Governor’s policy of paying attention to roads in Jepara, as it will boost the economy in the Regency. The Governor has allocated substantial funds for Jepara roads. This is an economic route in Jepara, so on behalf of the Jepara Regency Government we express our gratitude to the Governor.
Previously, Governor Luthfi reallocated approximately Rp 200 billion from the 2026 budget for road repairs across the region. This is intended to accelerate the handling of damaged road repairs to restore them to a smooth condition. The budget reallocation aims to boost the stability of provincial roads in Central Java, which had declined due to prolonged rainy seasons until early 2026. Luthfi explained that the reallocated funds are prioritised for provincial roads currently in severely damaged condition.
