Central Java Province provides 68 buses for Free Homecoming Programme
The Central Java Provincial Government is providing 68 buses for the Free Homecoming Programme for Eid 1447 Hijri, complementing the free travel scheme.
The Head of the Central Java Provincial Transportation Office, Arief Djatmiko, stated in Semarang on Wednesday that the total passenger capacity for buses is 3,400 seats.
He also noted that the province is providing train transport for the free homecoming programme with 320 seats on the Tawang Jaya Premium train service.
Registration for the 2026 Free Homecoming Programme opens on 12–13 March 2026. “Train registration is on 12 March, and bus registration opens on 13 March,” said Djatmiko.
Departures will take place on 28 March 2026 for the bus fleet and 27 March 2026 for the train service.
Those interested can register through the online Pedamateng application at https://pedamateng.penghubung.jatengprov.go.id/. The Pedamateng website is the official portal of Central Java province, managed by the Central Java Liaison Agency. Registration is also available through the JNN (Jateng Ngopeni Nglakoni) application, which is available for free download.
Registration verification will take place on 14–16 March 2026, with e-tickets issued on 17 March 2026. Final preparations for the Free Homecoming scheme will conclude on 25–26 March 2026.
Eligibility is straightforward, requiring a valid ID card with Central Java residence, employment in the informal sector with low income (such as motorcycle taxi drivers, domestic workers, street vendors, construction labourers, drivers, and similar occupations), verified through documentation. “Registration is limited to a maximum of four family members per household. As this programme is managed by Central Java authorities, applicants must have a Central Java Bank account,” he explained.
