Central Java Prosecutor's Office Denies Raiding or Examining SPPG Managers

The Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) has emphasised that it is not conducting raids, examinations, or sting operations against managers of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in the province. Head of Public Information for the Central Java Kejati, Arfan Triono, stated on Saturday that all district prosecutor’s offices across Central Java are merely carrying out the task of collecting data and information directly at SPPG points. “What is being done by the district prosecutor’s offices throughout Central Java is carrying out the task of collecting data and information directly at the SPPG points,” he said. He added that there have been no summons or examinations of National Police personnel or other parties. According to him, the activity is purely data collection and information gathering in the field, prioritising a professional and persuasive approach in accordance with legal provisions. He explained that if SPPG managers are willing to provide data or information, it will be accepted and recorded. Conversely, if they are unwilling, that condition will also be noted as part of the data collection results without any coercive action. This clarification follows the circulation of a circular letter allegedly from the Internal Security Sub-Directorate of the Central Java Police’s Profession and Security Division regarding alleged examinations by the prosecutor’s office of SPPG managers. The circular noted that many police personnel serve as SPPG managers and issued several directives, including instructing personnel not to comply with prosecutor summons without valid legal accompaniment procedures. It also directed that any examination should be conducted at the local district police headquarters with assistance from the Legal Division, Profession and Security Division, and the Regional Inspectorate.
