The Central Java Regional Police have stated that personnel managing the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) will remain cooperative if summoned for questioning by the prosecutor’s office. However, they emphasised that such examinations must be accompanied by official legal assistance from the Legal Division (Bidkum) and the Professional and Internal Security Division (Propam).

This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Commissioner Artanto, in Semarang on Thursday, in response to a circular from the Propam Division concerning the summoning of SPPG managers by prosecutors. “The essence is that we will be cooperative if there is a summons for examination, provided there is a valid accompaniment procedure from Bidkum and Propam,” Artanto said, confirming the existence of the circular.

He added that the circular serves as a reminder for all Central Java Police personnel to maintain administrative discipline. The circular was reportedly issued in light of the significant number of police personnel acting as managers or handlers of SPPG units.

The circular contains 10 directives, including a prohibition on personnel fulfilling a prosecutor’s summons without valid accompaniment procedures. Furthermore, the examination is requested to be conducted at the local police station with accompaniment from the Legal Division, Propam, and the Regional Inspectorate.

It is known that the Indonesian National Police manages 1,376 SPPG units, making it one of the institutions with the largest SPPG network in support of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme across various regions.
