The Forensic Laboratory Team (Labfor) of the Central Java Police conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) at a rubber waste warehouse used for shoe manufacturing materials in Brebes, Central Java. The crime scene investigation was carried out by the Central Java Police Labfor Team together with the Brebes Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Slatri Village, Larangan District, Brebes Regency, on Sunday (16/8).

At the start of the investigation, the team erected police tape to determine the cause of the fire at the two-hectare waste warehouse. Evidence from the fire remnants was also collected by officers for further investigation.

Brebes Police Chief AKBP M. Ali Akbar explained that in addition to conducting the crime scene investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire, police had also taken statements from ten witnesses, including warehouse employees. “We are still investigating this case, and the Central Java Police Labfor team has arrived to conduct the crime scene investigation,” said Ali Akbar.

Ali Akbar stated that all data and information obtained by the Central Java Police Labfor team would be processed as material for the fire investigation. “As part of the investigation, the team examined and took samples at the crime scene. We are still awaiting the results of the crime scene investigation,” Ali Akbar explained.

As previously reported, the non-hazardous waste warehouse was completely destroyed by fire starting on Saturday last week. The blaze could only be brought under control by firefighting teams after four days.
