Central Java Police Prepare Trauma Healing Team for NTT Earthquake Victims

The Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng) has prepared a Trauma Healing Team to provide psychological support to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Tuesday (18/8/2026). This measure complements the humanitarian aid previously sent by Polda Jateng, which included 10 lorries and one box van carrying essential supplies for residents impacted by the disaster.

The Trauma Healing Team consists of three psychology personnel: First Police Inspector Putri Agustina, Police Brigadier Narulita DH, and Police Brigadier Bagoes Hendra K. They will provide humane assistance tailored to the conditions and needs of the community at the disaster site.

Polda Jateng Head of Human Resources, Police Chief Commissioner Noviana Tursanurohmat, stated that disasters not only cause physical and material damage but can also affect the psychological condition of the community.

“Our principle is that we want to be present, to listen, to provide support and to help the community through this difficult period after the disaster,” he said.

Polda Jateng Head of Public Relations, Police Chief Commissioner Yuliyanto, added that psychological support forms part of the humanitarian assistance provided to survivors.

According to him, the presence of the Trauma Healing Team reflects the commitment of the Indonesian National Police to be present not only in maintaining security but also in accompanying the community through difficult situations.

“We hope the presence of the Polda Jateng Trauma Healing Team can provide strength and encouragement for the people of NTT. We want them to know that in the midst of this disaster, they are not alone,” he said.
