A police officer from the Tegal Police Resort, identified as N, has been detained and tested positive for methamphetamine following allegations of torture and an acid attack against his common-law wife, identified as MAN (30). The Central Java Police Public Relations Head, Commissioner Artanto, confirmed the positive drug test result on Tuesday (7/7).

According to the victim’s lawyer, the abuse began in 2022 after the couple married and culminated in 2025. The victim was reportedly force-fed methamphetamine, physically abused, held captive, threatened, and subjected to sexual perversion. The incident came to light when the perpetrator abandoned the victim at a hospital and subsequently disappeared. To conceal the crime, the perpetrator allegedly lied, claiming the victim’s injuries from the acid attack were caused by a gas cylinder explosion.

The victim had previously been intimidated and threatened with the release of CCTV footage containing explicit material, which prevented her from reporting the abuse earlier. The Central Java Police Professional and Internal Security Division has since detained officer N and is investigating disciplinary and ethical code violations. The criminal investigation into the reported offences remains under the authority of the National Police Criminal Investigation Division.
