Central Java Police Detain Officer Aiptu N Suspected of Torturing Woman

The Central Java Police’s internal affairs division (Propam) has detained Tegal Kota Police officer Aiptu N in connection with the alleged torture and acid attack on his unregistered wife, identified by the initials MAN (30). Central Java Police Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Artanto, stated in a written release on Friday (3/7) that the division had taken swift action by examining and detaining the officer. He explained that Propam is currently investigating the suspected disciplinary violations and breaches of the Police Professional Code of Ethics committed by Aiptu N. Artanto assured that the force will take firm action against any member proven to have committed violations, emphasising that the entire process is being conducted professionally, objectively, transparently, and accountably. He further confirmed that the handling of the alleged criminal acts reported by the victim remains under the authority of investigators from the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim). The criminal legal process is underway at Bareskrim, and any police officer who commits a crime or violates the code of ethics will be dealt with strictly according to the law and applicable regulations without exception, he said. Previously, an active police officer was reported to Bareskrim for alleged sexual abuse, assault, and threats against his unregistered wife. The report was received under number LP/B/295/VII/2026/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI. The victim’s legal counsel, Raden Reza, said his client was immediately examined with 20 questions followed by a post-mortem examination at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital. He told reporters at Bareskrim on Thursday (2/7) that the victim was initially forced to take methamphetamine, and throughout the period was assaulted, confined, threatened, and subjected to deviant sexual treatment. Raden explained that the perpetrator’s treatment of the victim had been occurring since 2022 after they married, with the peak of the brutal acts happening in 2025. The case came to light when the perpetrator abandoned the victim at a hospital and then disappeared. To conceal his crimes, the perpetrator lied by claiming the victim’s injuries were caused by a gas cylinder explosion, whereas she had actually been splashed with acid. The victim had not previously reported the abuse due to intimidation, as the perpetrator threatened to disseminate CCTV footage containing immoral content.
