Central Java Police Bolster Podcast Strategy to Reach Generation Z
The Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng) is strengthening its public communication strategy through the use of podcasts and social media collaboration to reach the public, particularly Generation Z. The initiative was the focus of the Public Relations Division’s (Bidhumas) Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) at the Borobudur Building of the Central Java Police Headquarters on Friday (24/7). The meeting, led by Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Commissioner Artanto, was attended by public relations personnel from various work units and district police stations. The activity carried the theme of quality podcast production strategies and social media collaboration synergy to enhance the ability of public relations personnel to face changes in information consumption patterns in the digital era. Commissioner Artanto stated that the Indonesian National Police’s public relations division must adapt to technological developments to make public communication more effective. ‘Public relations personnel must be able to produce quality public communication, be adaptive to technological developments, and provide real benefits to the community,’ he said. The Central Java Police invited media practitioner Kristiyawanto and Swita Amallia Hapsari, a lecturer from Dian Nuswantoro University (UDINUS) Semarang, as speakers. They shared material on podcast production strategies, narrative construction, and the distribution of micro-content across various social media platforms. Through strengthening the capacity of public relations personnel and implementing a more adaptive and humanist communication strategy, the Central Java Police hopes that police messages can be received more effectively by the public while simultaneously increasing public trust in the Indonesian National Police.
