Batang (ANTARA) – The Central Java provincial government is optimistic that investment will exceed Rp110 trillion by the end of 2026, amid growing investor interest in the province.

“We are optimistic that a company from Vietnam will be coming in soon. We are optimistic that in 2026 we can match last year’s achievement of Rp110 trillion,” Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said on Friday at the Batang Industropolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

According to data, investment in Central Java reached Rp23 trillion in the first quarter of 2026, then rose to Rp59.94 trillion in the second quarter and Rp72.54 trillion in the third quarter.

He said the performance resulted from collaboration among relevant stakeholders to attract foreign and domestic investors to invest in Central Java.

Efforts include business and investment forums, inter-regional co-operation, and sister-province and sister-city partnerships with other countries.

“Business and investment forums such as this can bring together businesses, industrial estates and policymakers, namely the government. For example, our Central Java Investment Business Forum (CJIBF) can generate up to Rp19 trillion in investment in a single day,” he said.

The investment gains have also been supported by regional leaders acting as marketing managers, including by preparing new industrial estates and special economic zones in Central Java.

The province currently has around seven existing industrial estates, in areas including Semarang, Demak, Kendal, Batang and Brebes. Around 12 new estates are being prepared across the province to foster new economic growth.

“Industrial estates are important for new economic growth. Central Java’s economic growth is now 5.80 per cent, above the national average,” he said.

He expressed hope that Central Java would continue to be a destination for both domestic and foreign investment.

In recognition of the positive investment performance, Governor Ahmad Luthfi received an award in the Accelerator Figure category for Investment and Strengthening National Strategic Programmes.
