Central Java High Prosecutor's Office Clarifies Raid and Examination Rumours on Nutrition Programme Managers

Semarang, VIVA – The Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) has denied conducting raids, questioning, or sting operations against managers of Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG) across the province.

Arfan Triono, Head of the Legal Information Section at the Central Java Kejati, said all District Prosecutor’s Offices in Central Java were merely collecting data and statements directly at SPPG sites.

“What the district prosecutor’s offices across Central Java are doing is carrying out the task of collecting data and statements directly at SPPG locations,” he said, quoted on Saturday, 11 July 2026.

He also denied reports of any summons or questioning of Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel regarding the management of SPPGs.

“To date, there have been no summons or questioning of Polri personnel or any other parties,” he said.

According to him, the activities carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office are purely data collection and the gathering of statements in the field, using a professional and persuasive approach in accordance with legal provisions.

He explained that if an SPPG manager is willing to provide data or information, it will be received and recorded. Conversely, if they are unwilling to provide data, this is also noted as part of the data collection results, without any coercive action.

Arfan stressed that the Central Java Kejati is committed to carrying out law enforcement duties professionally, objectively, accountably and transparently, while upholding the presumption of innocence in order to achieve legal certainty, justice and benefit for the public.

Previously, a circular purportedly originating from the Head of the Internal Security Sub-Division of the Profession and Security Division (Propam) of the Central Java Regional Police circulated, concerning alleged questioning of SPPG managers by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The circular stated that many Polri personnel serve as SPPG managers, prompting the issuance of several directives. One of them instructed that Polri personnel should not respond to prosecutor’s summons without a legitimate accompaniment procedure.

In addition, the circular directed that any questioning should be carried out at the local District Police Headquarters (Mapolres), accompanied by the Legal Division (Bidkum), Propam, and the Regional Supervisory Inspector (Irwasda).
