Central Java High Prosecutor's Office Clarifies Raid and Examination Rumours on Nutrition Programme Managers

The Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Jateng) has refuted claims that it conducted searches, examinations, and sting operations (OTT) against managers of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) within the province. Head of Legal Information for the Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office, Arfan Triono, stated that all District Prosecutor’s Offices in Central Java are merely gathering data and information directly at SPPG locations. “What the district prosecutor’s offices across Central Java are doing is carrying out the task of collecting data and information directly at SPPG points,” he said on Saturday, 11 July 2026. He also denied information regarding the summoning or examination of Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel concerning SPPG management. “To date, there have been no summons or examinations of Polri personnel or other parties,” he stated. He explained that the activities carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office are purely data collection and information gathering in the field, prioritising a professional, persuasive approach in accordance with legal provisions. He clarified that if SPPG managers are willing to provide data or information, it will be received and recorded. Conversely, if they are unwilling, that condition is also noted as part of the data collection results without any coercive action. Arfan stressed that the Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office is committed to carrying out law enforcement duties professionally, objectively, accountably, and transparently, while upholding the presumption of innocence to ensure legal certainty, justice, and benefit for the community. The statement was issued after a circular letter reportedly originating from the Head of the Internal Security Sub-Division of the Central Java Police circulated, concerning alleged examinations by the prosecutor’s office of SPPG managers. The circular noted that many Polri personnel serve as SPPG managers and directed them not to comply with summons without proper legal accompaniment, suggesting examinations be conducted at local police headquarters with supervision from Legal, Internal Affairs, and Regional Inspectorate divisions.
