Central Java Governor's Office Expands into Civil Administration Service Hub
The Central Java Governor’s office, which serves as a venue for the public to voice their aspirations, has now expanded its function to include civil administration services. Through this service, Central Java residents from various regions can process a range of civil documents more easily and quickly, including for those with cross-domicile needs.
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that public services at the Governor’s office, referred to as Rumah Rakyat Jateng, will continue to be developed to make things easier for the community. He made the statement while reviewing the service and greeting residents using the facility on Wednesday (8/7).
“We serve various community issues here, including providing access to ID card services. The public is happy to come here, and we will continue to develop it in the future,” Luthfi said.
The civil administration service at Rumah Rakyat Jateng has been running for three months, operating routinely every Tuesday and Wednesday during the first week of each month. Services provided include electronic ID card recording for first-time applicants, replacement of damaged or lost ID cards, ID card photo updates, and processing of Child Identity Cards. All these services can be accessed by residents from various regions who are currently in Semarang.
Secretary of the Central Java Community and Village Empowerment, Population and Civil Registration Office, Nur Kholis, explained that the service is intended to make it easier for residents to obtain simple administrative services without having to return to their home regions. On average, the service handles around 150 residents per day. The enthusiastic response from the public has prompted the government to consider increasing the frequency of the service, including the possibility of opening similar services in other areas.
“We plan to open Rumah Rakyat in other locations, such as Surakarta. However, we are still assessing the developments and our available human resources,” he said.
A resident of Kendal Regency, Vita Marisa, said she learned about the service from the Kendal Regency Civil Registration Office when she needed to correct her birthplace data on her civil documents. “It speeds up the process of handling civil administration matters,” she said. She hopes the service can continue to be held regularly so that residents have an alternative for managing their civil documents. A similar hope was expressed by Semarang City resident Siti Istiani, who was updating her ID card photo. “Alhamdulillah, it’s free,” said Siti Istiani.
