Central Java Governor: We Are Fully Prepared to Receive Returning Migrants
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has ensured that all regional heads in Central Java are fully prepared to receive migrants returning home for the Eid holidays.
Luthfi stated that the Eid homecoming period is not merely an occasion for family gatherings, but also serves to drive economic circulation in the region. Therefore, the regional government has ensured all preparations are carried out to the maximum.
“During the mudik period, there is movement of people, goods, and money in the region. This can certainly stimulate the economy of the community,” said Luthfi.
The Central Java Provincial Government has also prepared various facilities for migrants passing through the region. As a province situated along the central route of Java Island, Central Java serves as an important transit point for migrants from various regions.
“Central Java is the central hub of national mudik flows. Migrants from West Java heading to East Java must pass through Central Java, and vice versa,” he explained.
To support the smooth passage of migrants, the regional government has prepared various supporting infrastructure and facilities, such as hotels, rest areas, and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) centres at several strategic points.
Luthfi hopes that migrants passing through Central Java can rest whilst shopping for MSME products, thereby helping to boost the region’s economy.
He also reminded migrants to maintain their health during travel and to convey greetings to their families in their hometowns.
