Central Java Governor Urges Public Not to Panic Buy Fuel, Ahmad Luthfi: No Need to Fret
SEMARANG — Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has appealed to residents of Central Java (Jateng) not to engage in panic buying of fuel or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). He assured the public that the availability of fuel and LPG in Central Java, particularly in the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr, is secure.
Luthfi chaired a provincial coordination meeting (Rakor Forkopimda) to discuss preparations for Eid al-Fitr 2026 at Gradhika Bakti Praja Building, the Governor’s Complex in Semarang City, on Monday, 9 March 2026. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Pertamina.
During the meeting, Luthfi said, Pertamina reported that fuel and LPG stocks in Central Java are in good condition. “I urge the public not to engage in panic buying, there is no need to be anxious or restless,” he stated whilst giving a press statement following the meeting.
He added that Deputy Governor Taj Yasin had already conducted a field inspection regarding fuel and LPG availability across Central Java. “Pertamina also reported that stocks are sufficient for the next two months,” Luthfi said.
