Acting Cilacap Regent Ammy Amalia Fatma Surya has described Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi’s proposal for civil servants (ASN) in the province to cycle to work as a means of saving energy as an extreme idea. She indicated that she does not support the suggestion. Ammy stated that Cilacap Regency has not yet implemented policies aimed at reducing energy consumption, particularly those targeting ASN mobility. “In Cilacap, it’s quite normal. Fuel efficiency wouldn’t be significant here,” she said while attending an event titled “Anti-Corruption Dialogue” held at the Gradhika Bakti Praja Building, Office of the Central Java Governor, Semarang City, on Monday (30/3/2026). Ammy cited her own mobility as Acting Regent of Cilacap as an example. She noted that the distance from her official residence to the Regent’s Office takes only a few minutes. “I don’t know about other regencies, but in my regency, we just keep it standard, nothing out of the ordinary. No need to be too extreme by requiring everyone to cycle to the office. It’s not like that,” she remarked. She added that Cilacap Regency has not studied or planned to implement work from home (WFH) for ASN to support energy savings. “I’d rather keep it normal, working as usual, no WFH, everyone still comes to the office. No need for me to force cycling, but everyone works maximally,” said Ammy.
