Central Java Governor Requests 2026 Revised Budget Focus on Road Repairs

Semarang (ANTARA) - The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, has instructed a correction to the 2026 Revised Regional Budget (APBD) to prioritise the acceleration of road repairs and construction.

“The priority is road infrastructure. In the revised budget, we will make changes. The Pokir (local legislative budget proposals) will be revitalised for road infrastructure,” he stated after attending a coordination meeting on the control of paddy field conversion in Semarang on Thursday.

He emphasised that budget proposals from the Central Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) must be dedicated to road infrastructure. According to the Governor, damaged roads are a priority issue that must be resolved immediately, as he does not want road users to continue complaining about potholes, which can even become life-threatening.

He noted that revitalising the Pokir is essential because many residents have submitted requests for road development in their respective areas. This demand is not limited to Blora Regency but extends to various other regencies and cities across Central Java. Furthermore, he mentioned that from last year through to early 2026, Central Java has experienced prolonged rainy seasons, which have contributed to the decline in road quality.
