At that time, huntara residents had already taken their places to perform Eid al-Adha prayers, with others still arriving. After greeting the community, Luthfi performed wudu and took the front row. He was accompanied by Tegal Regent Ischak Maulana Rohman, Vice Regent Ahmad Kholid, and Forkopimda Tegal Regency. The Eid prayer began around 6:15 am, led by Imam Kiai Tokhib Abu Umar, with Ustadz Ahmad Muhtarozi delivering the sermon. The prayer was conducted solemnly under the warm morning sun. ‘Today, I see all faces are bright, none are troubled. As governor, I wish everyone a happy Eid al-Adha 2026. May all our worship be accepted by Allah. I also ask for forgiveness for any wrongdoings,’ Luthfi stated on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. Luthfi noted that those performing Eid al-Adha prayers at Tegal Huntara Grand Mosque or elsewhere hold the same spiritual value as Muslims standing at Arafah. He acknowledged the difficult circumstances faced by huntara residents. ‘Despite shortcomings, we must be grateful for what is given. Rest assured, the state will not abandon or neglect you,’ he said. The Eid prayer with huntara residents symbolised unity and the state’s presence among disaster-affected communities. During the event, Luthfi and Ischak distributed sacrificial animals to locals. The Central Java Governor provided a 906kg Angus cow from his personal budget. Ruslani, Tegal Huntara Chairperson and Sacrifice Committee Head, thanked Luthfi for the sacrificial animal benefiting the community. However, residents were most pleased by Luthfi and Ischak’s direct presence for the Eid prayers. ‘I see no sad faces among huntara residents; all are joyful with the cow donation. People are enthusiastic and happy—unlike before, when governors and regents never visited for Eid prayers,’ said the former Padasari Village Head. Meanwhile, resident Rifai expressed gratitude for Luthfi’s visit and prayed that housing issues would soon be resolved to ease future anxieties.
