Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has reiterated the importance of strengthening unity among all elements of society in supporting regional development.

“Building Central Java Province must be based on the principle of togetherness. Central Java’s progress does not come from the governor, regents, or mayors alone, but from all components of society working hand in hand as one,” he said in Semarang on Saturday evening.

He made the remarks while attending the Harmony of Java 2026 event held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Central Java Province at the Central Java Recreation and Development Promotion Centre (PRPP).

He stressed that the success of Central Java’s development cannot rest solely on the government, but requires a spirit of mutual cooperation.

For this reason, the theme of Central Java’s 81st anniversary is “Wolung Puluh Siji, Gumregut Nyawiji”, which reflects the spirit of unity to move together in developing the region.

“My message is that on this 81st anniversary, let us strengthen unity and integrity. Let us set aside sectoral egos,” he said, accompanied by Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen and Central Java Regional Secretary Sumarno.

Marking the 81st anniversary, Central Java’s economic growth in the first half of 2026 reached 5.80 percent, while the poverty rate fell from 9.48 percent to 9.21 percent, meaning approximately 3.37 million people have been lifted out of poverty.

On the occasion, he also invited all Central Java residents to pray for those facing natural disasters, such as in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Kalimantan, Aceh, and various other regions.

According to him, such prayers are a form of empathy and concern for fellow Indonesians.

“Tonight we pray for our brothers and sisters affected by disasters. May they be strengthened, may they be given fortitude, and may they recover soon,” he said while leading a collective prayer.

The Harmony of Java evening was enlivened by performances from KLa Project, Pertelon Koplo, and Good Morning Everyone (GME), as well as Saleho.
