Central Java Government Targets 1.3 Tonnes of Vannamei Shrimp Per Cycle from Modern Industrial Estate Pond

The Central Java Provincial Government is cultivating vannamei shrimp on a 1,561-square-metre pond within the Wijayakusuma Industrial Estate (KIW) in Semarang, employing closed-system technology to conserve water and maintain optimal conditions in an industrial area. The modern aquaculture facility, managed by the Tugu Fish Seed and Aquaculture Centre (PBI) under the Central Java Marine and Fisheries Service, targets a production of 1.3 tonnes of vannamei shrimp per cultivation cycle lasting approximately 82 days. This effort is part of a broader strategy to increase aquaculture productivity and establish a model for the revitalisation of modern fish ponds along the Pantura (northern coast) region.
