Central Java Government Holds MSME Exhibition to Celebrate 81st Anniversary

More than 100 MSME tenants from various regions in Central Java took part in the event. A range of leading MSME products were exhibited, including food and beverages, crafts, fashion, and other creative products. The exhibition also featured MSMEs from other provinces, such as East Java, West Sumatra, Banten, and Lampung.

In addition to MSME products, the event included an exhibition of programmes by Central Java provincial government agencies, regional and state-owned enterprises, private companies, other institutions, and partner provinces that have cooperated with Central Java.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said MSMEs are the lifeblood of the economy in his region. The number of MSMEs in the province is nearly 4.8 million, spread across 35 regencies and cities. These millions of MSMEs are a priority for coaching and development, including access to capital, marketing, and packaging. He made the remarks after the opening ceremony for the 81st anniversary of Central Java Province and a review of the MSME exhibition.

“We want them to be productive so that the people’s economy can develop. This is part of village- and city-based economic development,” Luthfi said in a written statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).

Data shows that MSME development by the Central Java provincial government continues to grow. In the first quarter of 2026, the Central Java Cooperatives and SMEs Office coached 199,781 MSMEs, an increase of 1,001 compared with the previous year. These coached MSMEs were also able to absorb around 1.38 million workers.

The MSME exhibition was one of a series of events marking the 81st anniversary of Central Java Province. Under the theme ‘Wolung Puluh Siji, Gumregut Nyawiji’, the provincial government sought to convey the message that building a region requires a spirit of togetherness, unity, and collaboration.

“We hope that with this exhibition, our MSMEs will continue to grow and move up a class,” Luthfi said.

Meanwhile, Central Java Regional Secretary Sumarno said the 81st anniversary series featured various activities. In addition to the MSME exhibition, a job fair was held at the Central Java Manpower and Transmigration Office on 20-21 August, followed by an 8.1K Fun Run at PRPP on 22 August.

“Next there will be a concert by local bands and KLa Project at PRPP on 22 August. It will close with Jateng Bersholawat in the courtyard of the Central Java Governor’s Office,” Sumarno said.

A visitor to the exhibition, Safina Tunajati, said the event was interesting because she could see various MSME products from different regions in Central Java. Culinary MSMEs were one of the attractions because visitors could try food from various regions in one location.

She hoped that at the age of 81, Central Java would continue to progress in various fields so that public prosperity would increase.

“It is very interesting to be able to taste and enjoy products from various regions. At the same time, I wanted to reminisce about regional foods,” she said.
