The first period prize draw was held at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building, Central Java Governor’s Office Complex, Semarang, on Friday (26/6). Central Java Regional Secretary Sumarno stated that the Gebyar Hadiah Samsat is a form of appreciation from the regional government to the public who have contributed to Central Java’s development through motor vehicle tax payments. He said this appreciation is expected to change public habits so they do not wait until the due date to pay tax, as early payment in this programme provides an advantage in the form of additional lottery points. The point collection system can be done in four ways: paying tax using the Bank Jateng QRIS to get six points, paying before the due date to get three points, paying on time to get two points, and paying after the due date to get one point. “We hope the people of Central Java are motivated to pay their motor vehicle tax at least on time. It would be even better if they pay before the due date because they get more points,” Sumarno said in a written statement. Meanwhile, Head of the Central Java Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bapenda) Muhammad Masrofi said the Gebyar Hadiah Samsat is a government effort to reward compliant taxpayers while increasing awareness among those who are still not orderly in paying taxes. “Those who have paid tax we give appreciation to, and those who have not paid, seeing that there are prizes given, will also be motivated to pay tax on time,” he said. In the 2026 Period I Gebyar Hadiah Samsat, there were 11,454,334 lottery numbers from motor vehicle taxpayers who made payments from 1 December 2025 to 31 May 2026. The prizes prepared were in the form of BIMA savings accounts totalling Rp385.5 million and gold with a total weight of 22.5 grammes. From the draw, five people received one gramme of gold each, two people received 2.5 grammes of gold each, and 185 people received BIMA savings worth Rp2 million. Additionally, grand prizes were prepared for three winners. The first-place winner received a BIMA savings account of Rp7.5 million and five grammes of gold, the second-place winner received a BIMA savings account of Rp5 million and five grammes of gold, and the third-place winner received a BIMA savings account of Rp3 million and 2.5 grammes of gold. Masrofi added that the Gebyar Hadiah Samsat programme will continue, with the second period draw scheduled for December 2026 as a form of ongoing appreciation for the public who are orderly in paying motor vehicle tax. “It will be continuous because we must keep showing appreciation to compliant taxpayers,” he concluded. Besides providing appreciation, the Central Java Provincial Government also continues to encourage the digitalisation of tax payment services through collaboration with Bank Jateng and various related parties, so that the public finds it increasingly easy, fast, and comfortable to pay taxes.
