Central Java Government Assures Sukoharjo Public Services Continue After Bupati Named Suspect

The Central Java provincial government has assured that public services in Sukoharjo Regency will continue to operate smoothly after Bupati Etik Suryani was named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“We affirm that public services and the wheels of government in Sukoharjo Regency will continue as usual,” said Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi in Batang on Saturday.

He stated that his administration has not yet appointed an acting Bupati of Sukoharjo following the KPK’s designation of Etik Suryani as a suspect. Speaking on the sidelines of the 27th Anniversary Celebration of the Batang Branch of the Police Retirees Association, the former Central Java Police Chief said the provincial government continues to monitor developments in the case while preparing measures to ensure services to the public are not disrupted.

He emphasised his support for the KPK’s efforts to eradicate corruption. Law enforcement, he said, is an important part of building clean and high-integrity governance.

“In principle, with the sting operation that the KPK has carried out, we support it in order to create a clean and character-driven government,” he said.
