The development of IKN is expected to become a driver of national economic growth. Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Regional Representative Council (DPRD) has stated its interest in learning more about the tourism development concept and environmental management in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in parts of Penajam Paser Utara Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. “We are very interested in learning more about the tourism development concept and environmental management in IKN, including local community empowerment,” said the Chair of Commission B of the Central Java DPRD, Sri Hartini, on Tuesday, when explaining the purpose of the working visit to Indonesia’s new capital in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara. “We are also interested in learning about the cultural preservation concept and strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in IKN,” she added. The Central Java Provincial DPRD is currently working on a draft regional regulation (raperda) for handling critical land, continued Sri Hartini, so it can learn and exchange ideas with the IKN Authority. That concept is expected to encourage economic growth, explained the Secretary of the IKN Authority, Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto, while also maintaining local environmental and cultural sustainability. The IKN Authority has provided a tourism visit map through the IKNOW application, which presents interactive information on services and tourist destinations, as well as public transportation services and a travel guidebook that can be accessed by visitors or the public. “The development of IKN is expected to become a driver of national economic growth,” he said. Then, several tourist destinations or attractions in the IKN delineation area that have become attractions and can be visited by the public include Mount Parung, Black River Proboscis, Mentawir Mangrove, Raja’s Footprint Cave, and Bangkirai Hill. Indonesia’s new capital will become Indonesia’s economic superhub from west to east; IKN will boost Indonesia’s economy, stated Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto.
