Semarang (ANTARA) - The Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, stated that the provincial government has budgeted Rp2 billion as a ‘bisyarah’ (incentive) for 2,000 Quran memorisers within the region.

“In Central Java, we are providing a bisyarah of Rp1 million for students or community members who complete the memorisation of all 30 juz (the Quran),” he said during the closing ceremony of the XXXI Central Java National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) at Simpang Lima Field, Semarang, on Saturday night.

“This is not only for the people of Central Java, but for everyone who completes their memorisation within Central Java,” said the Deputy Governor, affectionately known as Gus Yasin.

He noted that in 2025, there were at least 1,041 recipients of the Quran memoriser incentive in Central Java.

For the year 2026, he stated that there are already at least 1,000 Quran memorisers who have completed their memorisation in the province.

“We are also providing scholarships for students and pesantren (Islamic boarding school) caregivers, as well as strengthening 5,347 pesantren,” he added.

He expressed his gratitude to all parties for the successful and smooth execution of the XXXI National MTQ, which lasted for nine days.
