Central Java Cooperative Product Showcase: A Platform for Promotion and Strengthening Business Networks
The Central Java Provincial Government is holding a Cooperative and SME Product Showcase in the parking area of Manahan Stadium, Surakarta. The event is designed as a promotional platform for superior products as well as a means to strengthen business networks among cooperatives in the region.
The activity, held to commemorate the 79th Cooperative Day, runs for two days on 11–12 July 2026. The exhibition features 37 stands from 35 regencies and cities in Central Java, Bulog, and the Central Java Provincial Health Office.
Central Java Regional Secretary Sumarno stated that the exhibition serves a dual function. Besides introducing cooperative products to the wider public, the event provides a strategic space for cooperatives from various areas to build partnerships and expand market access.
According to Sumarno, the Cooperative Day commemoration must be used as a momentum to strengthen the position of cooperatives as pillars of a people-based economy. He also gave special appreciation for the participation of the Desa Merah Putih Cooperative (KDMP), which has begun exhibiting its business products.
“This shows that the newly formed cooperatives are starting to move and carry out real economic activities,” Sumarno said.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Central Java Cooperatives and SMEs Office, Desi Arijani, emphasised that the exhibition does not solely focus on short-term transaction value. The main focus of the activity is to expand networks and partnerships among cooperatives to create a more solid business ecosystem.
In addition to the product exhibition, the event was enlivened by the Cheap Food Movement. This programme is a collaboration between Bulog and the Surakarta City Desa Merah Putih Cooperative. Free health check-up services are also available for visitors to the exhibition site.
Through this initiative, the Central Java Provincial Government hopes that cooperative products will become more widely known, have stronger market competitiveness, and be able to grow as the main driver of the people’s economy in Central Java.
