SEMARANG – Central Java aims to be more than just a home for people of various ethnicities and backgrounds; the province is also continuously building collaborative spaces capable of attracting investment, driving the economy, and creating employment opportunities.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that openness and collaboration between groups are essential capital for strengthening regional economic growth. He noted that all elements of society have equal space to grow and contribute to Central Java.

“Central Java is our home. As a shared home, this festival teaches us the hope that Central Java will grow to become a centre for Java and a centre for Indonesia,” said Ahmad Lulphi while attending the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala Dinner at Hotel PO, Semarang, on Saturday (19/09/2026).

According to Luthfi, Central Java’s attractiveness as an investment destination is reflected in the large amount of realised capital during the first semester of 2026. During this period, investment from Chinese entrepreneurs reached approximately Rp4.55 trillion, while total investment in Central Java surpassed Rp59.94 trillion.

This realisation consists of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) amounting to Rp25.92 trillion, Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) of Rp22.62 trillion, and micro and small business (UMK) investment of Rp11.40 trillion.

Incoming investment has also contributed to labour absorption. As of the first semester of 2026, 213,217 workers have been absorbed from 55,989 investment projects.

“This shows that Central Java possesses an appeal for investors, and the opportunities for economic cooperation are also increasing,” he said.

For Luthfi, investment is not measured solely by the amount of capital injected. The impact on the economy and employment opportunities for the community are also vital components of investment benefits. Therefore, the local government continues to encourage the creation of an ecosystem that allows the government, business actors, and the community to build sustainable collaboration.

This message was also conveyed by Luthint during the Mid-Autumn Festival organised by the Chinese Society of Central Java, Indonesia. He noted that the event is not merely a cultural celebration but also reflects the values of kinship, family, unity, and intimacy.

These values, he said, can serve as social capital to strengthen networks between business actors. Entrepreneurs from various backgrounds can meet, build connections, and align their steps to develop businesses in Central Java.

“Much like the moonlight that illuminates four continents as one, so that your businesses can succeed. It can colour the people of Central Java and all existing associations, ensuring Central Java progresses sustainably towards Indonesia Gold 2045,” he said.

Luthfi emphasised that collaboration between the government, the business world, and the community is a crucial part of maintaining economic growth momentum. The stronger the networks formed, the more open the space for economic cooperation and investment becomes.

“In this shared home called Central Java, entrepreneurs collaborate to support the growth of investment,” he remarked.

With investment realisation reaching nearly Rp60 trillion in the first semester of 2026, the provincial government is striving to ensure that incoming capital flows provide broader benefits to the community. According to the local government, the measure of investment success does not stop at the value of realised capital; investment is also expected to stimulate regional economic activity and create even more job opportunities.

With this spirit, Central Java is positioned as a shared home: a place where people from various backgrounds collaborate, businesses expand, and investment grows alongside the regional economy.
