Central Java Attracts More Investors as Rp1.2 Trillion Dairy Farm Begins Construction

A large-scale integrated dairy farm with a capacity of up to 30,000 cows has begun construction in Karangbale Village, Larangan District, Brebes Regency, Central Java. The development by PT Global Dairi Bersama was marked by a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday (20/7). The ceremony was attended by Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Chair of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives Siti Hediati Soeharto, Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma, and CEO of Saviora Group Ihsan Mulia Putri. The integrated farm, spanning 710 hectares, will house approximately 30,000 dairy cows and will be equipped with milk processing facilities, waste-to-biogas and fertiliser processing, and an animal feed centre. The investment value is estimated at Rp1.2 trillion. Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that this is the largest dairy farm and milk factory in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, which will help Central Java achieve greater food self-sufficiency in milk production. He noted that the province’s current dairy cow population is around 77,566 head, producing approximately 78,465 tonnes of milk per year, while demand stands at about 94,730 tonnes annually. The governor expressed confidence that the farm’s output will cover the province’s milk deficit and contribute to national supply. He added that Central Java is increasingly attracting investors due to regional stability, ease of licensing, and a competitive workforce. CEO of Saviora Group, Ihsan Mulia Putri, said the project represents a commitment to supporting the government’s national milk self-sufficiency programme. She expects the farm’s 30,000 cows to produce enough milk to create a self-sufficient and competitive dairy industry ecosystem, while also fostering inclusive economic growth in rural Central Java. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman encouraged the acceleration of milk self-sufficiency in Central Java to meet rising national demand, expressing confidence that the project will help Indonesia achieve its self-sufficiency targets.
