Central Java and BSSN strengthen collaboration to improve cyber security

Semarang (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Government, together with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), is strengthening collaboration to improve cyber security while supporting the implementation of digital government.

Central Java Regional Secretary Sumarno said in Semarang on Friday that cyber security is one of the important challenges as digital government becomes increasingly widespread. Therefore, he said, strengthening cyber security requires joint efforts and support from various parties, including BSSN.

The meeting was attended by BSSN Deputy for Government and Human Development Cyber Security and Crypto (Deputy III) Sulistyo, accompanied by Head of the Central Java Communication, Informatics and Digital Agency Lilik Henry Ristanto, along with their staff.

The synergy is expected not to stop at the provincial level but to be expanded to district and city governments and various stakeholders in Central Java.

He appreciated the BSSN visit, which he considered a momentum to further strengthen collaboration in developing digital government in Central Java. According to him, BSSN has the competence to provide guidance and assistance to local governments in facing various cyber security challenges.

He stressed that cyber security collaboration is not sufficient if carried out only between the Central Java Provincial Government and BSSN, but needs to be expanded by involving district and city governments as well as various other stakeholders.

With broader involvement, efforts to build cyber security and sovereignty in Central Java are expected to be carried out collectively.

“We are talking not only about the Central Java Provincial Government, but also with district and city governments throughout Central Java, and not only on the government side. All stakeholders in Central Java can collaborate together,” he said.
