Jakarta (ANTARA) – Central Jakarta Administrative City Mayor Arifin urged students to make use of facilities from the free private school programme by boosting their study spirit and building a disciplined character. ‘I hope the students of SMK IT YP IPPI can master modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, digitalisation, and foreign languages so they are ready to compete in the job market,’ Arifin said when he visited SMK IT YP IPPI Institute Pengembangan Pendidikan Indonesia (IPPI) Petojo, which participates in the free private school programme from the DKI Jakarta provincial government, on Friday. He noted that in Central Jakarta there are 18 free private schools out of 103 private schools participating in the free private school programme. Therefore, he urged all students to utilise the free private schools well, and to be competitive. Arifin explained that parents feel greatly helped and happy because their children can receive education without financial burden. ‘In fact, the motivation to learn among students at YP IPPI Petojo has increased,’ he added. He also invited all residents of YP IPPI Petojo, Central Jakarta, to begin implementing a consistent school waste management programme in their environment, as already announced by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. Meanwhile, SMK YP IPPI principal Yusuf Abdul Aziz expressed gratitude that the school, which has stood for many decades, has been included in the free private school programme. ‘Hopefully in the future more members of the community will be able to benefit from the free private school programme,’ he said.
