Central Jakarta Tax Office Supports MSMEs Through Product Photography Training
The Central Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) is supporting the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through product photography training as part of its Business Development Services (BDS) programme. Tax Counsellor Herman Setyawan stated that the training aims to equip MSMEs with skills to market their products more effectively through appealing visual presentations. “Through this BDS activity, we hope that MSMEs will not only better understand the importance of producing attractive product photos but also gain practical skills to market their products more effectively,” Herman said in a statement on Friday. He explained that the event, themed ‘Quality Product Photos, Business Upgraded’, was attended by representatives of MSMEs registered at Tax Service Offices within the Central Jakarta Regional Office. According to Herman, the DJP not only functions to collect state revenue but also provides assistance to taxpayers, particularly MSMEs, so they can develop their business capacity sustainably. During the training, participants received material on product photography using mobile phones from professional photographer Ilham Hanifa. The material covered techniques for utilising lighting, arranging composition, styling products, selecting shooting angles, and editing photos using easily accessible applications. The training was organised in response to the growing need for MSMEs to leverage digital marketing. High-quality product photography is considered a key factor in building consumer trust, increasing product appeal, and expanding marketing opportunities across various e-commerce platforms. In addition to the photography training, participants also received material on access to business financing from a BSI Area Micro & Pawning Manager. This session introduced various formal financing alternatives along with the requirements that MSMEs need to prepare according to their business needs. Herman expressed hope that the combination of digital marketing training and understanding of financing access would equip MSMEs to increase their competitiveness while expanding business development opportunities amidst the growth of the digital economy. “We want the presence of the DJP to provide added value for taxpayers through assistance that supports business growth so that MSMEs can continue to develop and upgrade,” he said.
