Central Jakarta Policewomen Play with 'Little Police' to Introduce Policing Early
Policewomen from the Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police engaged with ‘Little Police’ from the Melati Islamic Kindergarten in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The activity was held as an effort to bring the figure of the police closer to children from an early age. The ‘Let’s Play Together with the Police’ event took place at the Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Red Field on Friday. It was officially opened by Central Jakarta Metro Resort Deputy Chief AKBP Eko Yulianto. The Little Police were invited to participate in various educational activities in a cheerful atmosphere. Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Chief Commissioner Reynold Hutagalung stated that the policewomen provided education on the introduction of police duties, the importance of discipline, a culture of orderly traffic, and even taught proper dining etiquette. The students were also taken on a tour of the Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Command Headquarters to see the activities of police personnel up close. They appeared enthusiastic when riding four-wheeled patrol vehicles and two-wheeled service motorcycles with the officers. Furthermore, the Little Police group was taken around the National Monument (Monas) area and enjoyed the view from the top of Monas. Commissioner Reynold said the activity is a form of humane service by the Indonesian National Police to the community, especially children. He explained that the police are not only present when there are security disturbances but also to provide education and build closeness with the community from an early age. He expressed the hope that children will recognise the police as friendly, caring figures and become their friends. Commissioner Reynold added that the activity with the Little Police is one way the Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police instils the values of discipline and legal awareness in the younger generation. He expressed hope that the Little Police participants will grow into disciplined, orderly children and become pioneers of traffic safety in their school and family environments. The ‘Let’s Play Together with the Police’ event proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly. The students appeared enthusiastic in following the entire series of events with Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police personnel.
