The Central Jakarta Metro Police narcotics unit uncovered 12 narcotics trafficking cases and eight illegal pharmaceuticals cases during June 2026. From these operations, police detained 15 suspects.

“We will not give any room whatsoever to drug dealers or traffickers in the Central Jakarta area. Enforcement will continue to be carried out firmly, in line with prevention efforts through education and synergy with the community to break the chain of narcotics distribution,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Reynold EP Hutagalung at the police headquarters on Wednesday (8/7/2026).

Reynold stated that from the disclosures, 15 individuals were named suspects in narcotics cases and nine suspects in illegal pharmaceuticals cases.

On the same occasion, Deputy Chief of Central Jakarta Metro Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Eko Yulianto highlighted four prominent cases. The first involved suspect RN (32), arrested in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, with evidence of 1.02 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

“Next was the uncovering of 25.449 kilograms of cannabis from an Aceh-Jakarta network, with suspects AFL (25), a repeat offender, and EFP (25), arrested in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta,” Eko said.

The third case involved suspects AP (41) and MM (22) in Lubang Buaya, Cipayung, part of a Padang-Jakarta network, with 13.34 kilograms of cannabis seized. The final case involved suspect SB (44) in Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

“Police seized 4,290 Happy Five (H5) pills, 1,005 ecstasy pills, 425 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 40 etomidate cartridges, three digital scales, and one mobile phone,” he detailed.

Additionally, the narcotics unit uncovered eight illegal pharmaceuticals cases with nine suspects. A total of 5,315 pills of various brands were confiscated from six cases in Tanah Abang, one case in Senen, and one case in Cempaka Putih.

“As a form of public accountability, the Central Jakarta Metro Police also destroyed evidence from seven prominent cases, consisting of five narcotics cases and two dangerous drug cases,” he said.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Wisnu S Kuncoro stated that the June 2026 operations were estimated to have saved around 35,000 lives from drug abuse.

He added that beyond enforcement, the unit continues to intensify prevention efforts through outreach to schools and communities, while encouraging residents to actively provide information regarding drug trafficking.

“We will not give any room for drug dealers or traffickers. Synergy between the National Police and the community is key to breaking the chain of narcotics distribution,” he said.

The evidence destroyed included 28.3 kilograms of cannabis, 3.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 17,057 ecstasy pills, 15.32 grams of synthetic tobacco, 1,044 etomidate cartridges, and 7,972 dangerous drug pills.

The suspects are charged under Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics and Law Number 17 of 2023 on Health, as amended by Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Code Adjustments, with maximum penalties of death, life imprisonment, or up to 20 years in prison.
